instructions compatibility videos dealers

There are three simple issues that need to be met for The Q UP to be compatible. We have provided a template via PDF that you can download, print off and check.

First, the tonearm must be a pivot type and NOT linear tracking.
Second,. you will need 14 mm of space between the tonearm and the platter. Slightly less if you are setting up the lifter without the base unit.

Third, the minimum height between the base where you will set up The Q UP and the bottom of the tonearm when playing a record is 36mm if you are using the base unit OR 34mm if you are setting it up without the base unit.

Please see our instructions page for clarification.

The following list of turntables is a rough guide. The Q UP should fit at least one OR all of their models. If you are not sure then please refer to the template for verification.
Thorens Linn Sondek Rega Oracle Clear Audio J.A. Michell Transrotor A R
EAT Sota Music Hall Kuzma Kenwood Systemdeck Luxman Empire
VPI Avid Artemis Goldmund Transporter SME EAR Denon
Pro-Ject McIntosh Palmer Origin Live Wilson Benesch JVC Pioneer Roksan

The Q UP is NOT compatible with DJ style turntables like the Technics 1200, Audio Technica and Stantons. There is no space between the platter and the tonearm to mount the lifter.

Low profile turntables

The Q UP works well with these turntables as long as you set it up without the base unit. It will require some simple DIY modification in order to be compatible with these turntables if you still want to use the base unit. We have a page that details our advise and also the input of actual Q UP users and how they made their own successful modifications. Click below...
